Ausangate is the fifth highest mountain in Peru. At 6,384 meters, it has been known by many names for centuries: “The Roof of the Inca Capital,” “Vinicunca” (Hill of Colors), etc. Guardian of the Cusco region, located in the Pitumarca district, Canchis province, Cusco region, in southern Peru, Ausangate is considered the most important mountain in the Andean worldview.

Program

1.- VINICUNCA – MOUNTAIN OF SEVEN COLORS

Pick up from your hotel will be at 3:00 a.m. to 3:20 a.m. The trip will be approximately 3 hours to the town of Pitumarka, where you will have breakfast, after which we will continue the trip to the town of Chilca, from this point our adventure will begin, the walk will be between 3 to 4 hours where we will appreciate beautiful landscapes full of streams, mountains, lagoons, snow-capped mountains as well as flora and fauna, after this time we will arrive at our longed-for destination Vinicunca or Cerro de Colores having adequate time to capture this magical place in photographs and in our memories, in addition to this place we will also be able to appreciate the Apu Ausangate, the snow-capped mountain most venerated by the Incas. After living this magical experience we will descend again to Chilca where we will have lunch, finally we will return to the city of Cusco arriving at Plaza Regocijo at approximately 6:30 p.m.
