Program

Day 1 – WELCOME TO AREQUIPA

On the day of your arrival at the Arequipa airport, we will be waiting for you with a sign with your name on it. We will then transfer you to your selected hotel, where you can rest in the morning. In the afternoon, we will pick you up at 1:30 p.m. to begin the tour of the “White City,” including the Convent of Santa Catalina, undoubtedly the jewel of Arequipa, finally opened to the public in 1970 after 400 years of seclusion, along with countless pieces of colonial art. You will also visit the Plaza de Armas, the cloisters of the Society of Jesus, and the Cayma and Yanahuara neighborhoods, with magnificent views of the El Misti volcano. You will also visit a traditional colonial mansion called the Founder’s Mansion. (Photo: Plaza de Armas, Arequipa).

Day 2 – TO THE COLCA CANYON AND VICUÑA RESERVE

Early in the morning, we depart by private bus for the Colca Canyon, passing by the foot of the Chachani volcano. During the trip, we will cross the Cañahuas plains, where the Vicuñas National Reserve is located. Here you can see the Vizcachani, La Pulpera, Callalli, Sibayo, and Tuti Village. The highest point we will pass is 4,000 meters above sea level, where you will appreciate the flora and fauna of the beautiful natural lagoons of Bofedales and Mar Atrapado, along with giant castle-shaped rocks. At 5:00 p.m., we will arrive in Chivay, in the Colca Valley. Overnight stay in the Colca Valley. (Photo: Vicuñas in the plains of Arequipa).

Day 3 – COLCA CANYON AND VIEWING THE CONDORS

In the morning, we depart for the “Cruz del Cóndor,” where the canyon begins and where we can appreciate its depth. From this point, we will also be able to see the condor in its natural habitat. After a brief stop at the “Cruz del Cóndor,” we will continue our journey through the Colca Canyon, admiring the small towns of Pinchocclo, Madrigal, Lari, Maca, Achoza, Yanque, etc. We will then return to Arequipa to rest.
