Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco one hour before your train departs and take you to the train station in Poroy. There, we will board the PeruRail train and begin our journey from Poroy to Cusco, traveling to the town of Aguas Calientes (2000 meters above sea level), a 4-hour trip.

Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, we will go to our hotel for lunch, which is included at a restaurant of your choice in Aguas Calientes. In the evening, our guide will provide you with the necessary information for your tour. If you wish, you can visit the hot springs or purchase local handicrafts.

Very early the next morning, we’ll head to the bus station for a 30-minute ascent of 400 meters along a winding road to reach the incredible world wonder, the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas. Upon arrival at the citadel, we’ll pass through the entrance gate, where we’ll hand over our tickets and begin our guided tour. We’ll visit the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries, for approximately two hours. After the tour of the Machu Picchu citadel, you have the option to trek to the summit of Huayna Picchu or the Mountain sector. This will take a few hours, during which you can enjoy the scenery and take in some breathtaking views (this hike is unguided). In the afternoon, we’ll take the bus back to Aguas Calientes and go to our hotel to collect our luggage. We’ll then arrive at the train station with plenty of time to catch our train back to Cusco, where we’ll be waiting for you at the Poroy station to transfer you to your hotel.

Important – From January to April, Inka Rail and Peru Rail services depart from and arrive at the Ollantaytambo or Pachar stations (2 hours from Cusco).
Our tour prices include transfers to these stations.

Program

Day 1.- Cusco – Aguas Calientes

• 5:45 a.m. Transfer from your hotel in Cusco to the train station.
• Train from Cusco to Aguas Calientes.
• Free day (Optional: Visit Machu Picchu on your own).
• Lunch à la carte.
• Overnight at your selected hotel.

2.- Machupicchu and Huaynapicchu

• 05:30 hrs. Bus ride to Machu Picchu.
• 06:00 hrs. Sunrise view of Machu Picchu (Optional).
• Guided tour to Machupicchu (7:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.)
• Optional: Inca Trail to Huaynapicchu or Mountain Sector (Without guide).
• Bus down to Aguas Calientes.
• In the afternoon return by train to Cusco.
• The tour ends at 8:00 p.m. with transfer from the train station to your hotel.
