Second Day:

Program

Day 1 – Puerto Maldonado and Monkey Island Tour

Depending on whether your hotel is located in Lima or Cusco, we will transport you to the airport for your flight to Puerto Maldonado (on your own), the “Biodiversity Capital of the World.” Arrival and welcome reception. We begin a city tour on our bus and then head to the Capitanía port to board a boat across the Madre de Dios River. During the trip, we will observe the ronsoco, caimans, turtles, herons, cormorants, and other animal species. Upon arrival at the lodge, we will receive a delicious welcome drink, settle into our bungalows, and have lunch. In the afternoon, accompanied by our specialized guide, we will visit Monkey Island, a 5-minute walk from the lodge. During the walk, we will observe extraordinary landscapes with lush flora, which shelters a variety of monkey species in their natural habitat. such as capuchins, small monkeys, lion monkeys, puffins, and cotos, as well as other species such as the coati, sloth, and a wide variety of birds. We will complete the island tour by enjoying the sunset, the most impressive aspect of the jungle. We will then return to the lodge for dinner and a rest.

Day 2 – Tour to La Cocha Perdida

After breakfast, we will hike to La Cocha Perdida, a refuge and feeding ecosystem for a vast variety of animals. There is a chance to observe otters, caimans, turtles, sachavacas, multicolored birds, the majestic jaguar, and a variety of fish. This area is unique and unspoiled, with vast swamps and diverse marshes. We will then arrive at the extraordinary Amazonian Lookout Point, from where you can admire the magical jungle and take a pleasant canoe ride around the lake. We will return to the lodge for lunch, and in the afternoon we will visit the wild tree plantations that are part of the botanical garden. At night, we will rest at the lodge.

Day 3 – Transfer to the airport

After breakfast, we embark on our return trip to Puerto Maldonado and enjoy unforgettable jungle views. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to the airport to board your return flight to Lima or Cusco.
