Itinerary

We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco one hour before your train’s departure time and take you to the train station in Poroy (30 minutes). There, you will board the PeruRail train and begin your journey to the town of Aguas Calientes (2000 meters above sea level), a 4-hour trip.

Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes station, you will have time to explore the town, enjoy a snack, and wait until 11:30 am to head to the bus station. From there, you will ascend 400 meters along a winding road for 30 minutes to reach the incredible world wonder, the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas.

The guided tour begins promptly at 12:00 noon. Upon arrival at the Machu Picchu citadel, you will pass through the entrance checkpoint where you will present your ticket. From there, the guided tour will begin, visiting the main sites of the city, including the Main Plaza, the Circular Tower, the Sacred Sun Dial, the Royal Quarters, the Temple of the Three Windows, and the cemeteries. The guided tour will last for more than two hours. Afterward, you will have free time to explore the citadel on your own or have lunch at the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel. Alternatively, you can return to the town of Aguas Calientes and have lunch at one of the many restaurants. (Lunch is not included in the tour package.)

In the afternoon, you will take the train back (please arrive at the station 30 minutes before your train’s departure time). The return journey follows the same route as the outbound trip. Upon arrival at the train station, we will be waiting to transfer you to your hotel.
